a) Start-up visa: Immigration Canada allows individuals across the global who are capable of building a business that would be globally competitive and would create more jobs for Canadians. - Must be able to provide enough settlement funds in Canada: The settlement funds would vary as per the family size. It starts from $12960 and goes all the way until $35000 approximately.
- Must be able to build a qualifying business: The applicant should have a minimum of 51% of the voting rights. Every applicant should hold at lteast a minimum of 10% of the corporation’s voting right at the time of getting a commitment from any designated organization.
- Must be able to obtain a letter of support from “a community” or “a designated organization”: These are the groups of business that are approved by the Immigration Canada who are allowed to invest and support potential start-up business via this program. Every organization has a specified minimum investment requirement:
- Business Incubators :No minimum investment security required.
- Angel Investor Groups :$75,000
- Venture Capital Funds:$200,000.
b) Self-employed: IRCC has opened up this stream to allow self-employed people in other countries. They must have relevant experience and as long as they are willing to make a “Significant Contribution” to Canada’s athletic or cultural industries they would be on the pathway to become Permanent Resident under this category.
